Located inside Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort, Blue Note Hawaii features a year-round lineup of musical entertainment – from local talent to international sensations – for limited engagements.

Jamarek is Hawaii’s premier African dance band. Its members have performed around the world and now play for the people of Hawai’i, bringing African and Latin-inspired music to the people of the Pacific. Jamarek released their first studio album last year, entitled Fechal.

Fechal means “Dance!” in Wolof, one of the indigenous languages of Senegal, West Africa. The music on this album is meant to inspire dance, movement, and to further the mission of the band: Jamarek, a word meaning “Peace only.” Jamarek is a greeting used by the Wolof people of Senegal as a response to the question “how are you?” It captures the spirit of a wise and ancient people, and inspires the music on Jamarek. We hope that our music will invite you to dance and be at peace. For the concert the band will play selections from their album “Fechal”, as well as an array of newly arranged songs.
